Anti-parasite medication destroys the Coronavirus: Experts on the threshold of a Revolutionary Solution

Scientists have discovered that a medication for parasites, such as lice, kills Covid-19 in a laboratory in less than 48 hours.

A study led by Monash University found that a single dose of Ivermectin (more info about the drug) prevented the growth of the SARS-CoV-2 virus from spreading inside the cells.

“We’ve found that even a single dose can basically remove all the genetic material of the virus in just 48 hours, and in just 24 hours there has been a significant reduction in the presence of the virus,” said Dr. Kill Wagstaff of the Monash Institute for Disease Control”.

It is not yet known how Ivermetin acts on the virus, but scientists believe it suppresses the ability of host cells to purify them. The next step is to determine if the correct dose for the person is to be safe and not harm the person/human cells.

“At a time when we have a global pandemic and no approved treatment, we are happy to know that we have a compound that is already available around the world and that can help people quickly. In fact, it will be some time before the vaccine becomes widely available, “said Dr. Wagstaff.

Scientists expect it to be at least a month before the introduction of the human experiment.

Ivermectin is a drug against parasites, and has also been shown to be effective against coronavirus, HIV, dengue fever and influenza.
