The Russian Research Center for Virology and Biotechnology has begun testing various COVID-19 vaccine prototypes. The testing is carried out on laboratory animals in Siberia, Reuters reports.

The Russian Ministry of Health’s Research Institute for Influenza previously said that the discovery of the vaccine could take between 4 and 6 months.

The World Health Organization had earlier said that initial investigations would begin in four months.
Until now, 199 people have been infected with Covid-19 in Russia, up 35% from the previous day. One person infected with the virus has died.

Globally there are currently more than 255,000 infected people, 10,500 deaths from coronavirus infections, and 89,000 recovered from the disease.
